- Place 12 cups of whole, chopped, or slivered nuts in a small cast-iron skillet, saucepan, or “tava” and roast over moderate heat, swirling and shaking the pan, for about two minutes, or until a golden colour is attained (don’t allow it become brown).
- Turn off the heat and give the room time to cool.
- Use right away or store in an airtight container for up to seven days at room temperature or up to thirty days in the refrigerator. The container should be kept in a cold, dark area.
Advice: Because various components roast at different rates and for varying lengths of time, roasting them separately is a smart idea.
